Kera sit2sit™ technology

Don't waste time and energy fitting a sling.

Completed transfers in less than 2 minutes.

sit2sit™ technology, hugs the upper body into the chest pad using an 'easy to fit' back strap.

The unique transfer position allows access to clothing which can reduce the number of transfers needed, saving time and energy, and lowering risk of injury to the user and caregiver.

One caregiver can transfer users with no standing strength, sitting balance or holding on.

Users are held firmly by the upper body making sit2sit™ hoists ideal for Tetraplegics, Double Leg amputee, Stroke/MS/Parkinsons.

sit2sit™ hoists are an ideal replacement for a sit-to-stand hoist or sling hoists.

sit2sit™ technology can eliminate unnecessary hoist transfers to a mat or changing table, allowing a single caregiver to safely and securely perform the full hygiene routine for people who are non-weight bearing.

This makes the changing of incontinence products a much quicker and more simple process.

The improved access to clothing eliminates manual handling issues on the part of the caregiver and takes the fear and risk from the routine.

Want a perfect seated position every time?

When you're going to be sitting all day your seating position is extremely important.

The Kera's sit2sit™ patented technology, takes most of the pressure off the knee and positions you in the back of your day chair, wheelchair, or commode with no unnecessary tilting, wiggling, sliding or manual repositioning.

More Benefits

The Kera Home Hoist was designed in consultation with our Clients, Physios and Therapists for comfort and safety.

The unique Backstrap and soft padded Chestpad is comfortable for both men and women.

The addition of a Thighstrap reduces the load on the Backstrap, improving safety and comfort.

Clients regularly comment on the comfort of resting on their chest whilst feeling connected to the ground through their lower body on the footplates.

Quickly and easily transfer your loved one or patient from their bed, chair or toilet to another seated position, fast and with dignity.

No messing around with fitting a sling, as the Backstrap is easily and quickly fitted.

Your loved one or patient relies on you, so you need to stay injury-free.

The patented design of the Kera Home Hoist was developed to reduce the load on caregivers.

The Kera Home Hoist is light and maneuverable, with no electrical parts, and a small footprint enabling it to be conveniently stored or transported.

Model Options

The Kera Home hoist comes in four configuration options to best suit the user and their environment.

The Kera Home Low base models are suited for lower seats such as manual wheelchairs, day chairs and toilets, which typically have seat heights 40-55cm (15"-21.5") off the ground.

The Kera Home High base models are raised by 8cm (3") to suit higher seats, such as power wheelchairs, tilt-in-space wheelchairs and toilet commodes which typically have a seat height between 50-65cm (19.5"-25.5") off the ground.

The Kera Home 120 has a longer handle and enables the caregiver to transfer a person that weighs up to 120Kg (265lb).

The Kera Home 80 has a shorter handle, which makes it easier to use in smaller rooms, and can be used to transfer a person that weighs up to 80Kg (175lb).

Scripting

The Kera Home can be modified to suit the User's requirements or to better suit environmental factors such as space or chair size.

Investigate the user’s typical seats i.e. wheelchair, commode, day chair and bed.

Measure the seat heights from the floor to the middle of the seat cushion.

The seat heights are between 40 - 55cm (15"-21.5") from the ground?

The Kera Home Low base is more comfortable and easier to lift a person from these lower height chairs.

The seat heights are between 50-65cm (19"-25.5") from the ground?

A Kera Home High base is the best for these higher chairs.

If seat heights are outside these ranges or are across both ranges then contact HT Systems or your Distributor for more guidance.

The difference between the 80 and 120 handles is the size of the Caregiver handle which relates to how much effort is required to lift the user.

If the User weighs less than 80kg (175lb)

Select the Kera 80 handle which has a “shorter” handle which also results in a smaller footprint (note that the maximum caregiver force, with this 80 handle, is 1/4th of the user’s weight).

If the User weighs more than 80kg (175lb) and less than 120Kg (265lb)

Select the Kera 120 handle which has a “longer” handle for increased leverage (note that the maximum caregiver force, with this 120 handle, is 1/5th of the user’s weight).

A Thighstrap is easily added to the Kera sit2sit™ hoists and greatly reduces the tightness required from the Backstrap.

See our Thighstrap page

Footboxes can be used in cases where the user has uncontrolled motion of their feet, tremors or their feet lift up of the footplate at any point of the transfer.

Riser blocks help when the user's feet don't reach the footplates.

The Kera sit2sit™ Backstrap comes complete with all Kera hoists.  Spare Backstraps can be ordered.
